Working with rasters

BlueSpray makes working with large raster images easy.  BlueSpray will ask you how you would like to access a large when you attempt to load it.  You can either chose to load a portion of the raster or create pyramids.  If you decide to load a portion of the raster you can select any area of the raster and then select the cell size for the pixels.  The Raster Sampler dialog will show you the final size of the raster as you change the settings.
- Add Raster Sampler dialog
Pyramids make viewing large rasters fast. When you select this option, BlueSpray will take some time to create a folder with the same name as your raster that contains a number of ‘tiles’ that represent the raster at different viewing scales.  Then, BlueSpray will load the layer using the pyramids.  From now on when you view this layer it will update quickly as it will be use the previously created tiles.
